GONZALO AÑÓN REIGNS IN THE 2* AND BIDS TO GAIN THE BANCO PASTOR

The Spanish 16 year old rider and his mount Tobias absolute winners in both 2* competitions disputed today at Casas Novas.

Gonzalo Añón the 16 year old Spanish Junior Champion and his mount Upaya won the opening competition of the day, a 2* speed and husbandry competition. He completed a flawless round in just 54.60 seconds and ratified his leadership this afternoon after obtaining the Prosegur Trophy, completing yet another flawless round in just 56.71 seconds, in this occasion his couple was Tobias, a splendid animal which he has been riding for just a little over three weeks but which he has been able to interpret perfectly from the first moment.

Gonzalo, who this morning said to be very happy with what was then his first home victory was overjoyed this afternoon after obtaining his second victory of the day, the Prosegur Trophy, and feels confident about the Banco Pastor Grand Prix tomorrow.
The rider also had a mention for his older brother Manuel, winner on Friday in the London Olympia, one of the most prestigious Show Jumping competitions in the world

The second prize of the NespressoTrophy went to Jos Verlooy from Belgium on Wamira (56.19) closely followed by another Belgian, Thierry Goffinet on Cendo (56.21), Belarusia´s Basil Ivanou on Lodonkor came in fourth place ( 57.32) and the fifth prize went to another Spaniard, Ismael García Roque on Andor (58.23).

As for the Prosegur Trophy the second prize went to Fabienne Lange from Belgium on Bamiro(58,02 sec), the Portuguese Duarte Romao on Lalique finished third (58,08 sec.) and the fourth and fifth places went to Borja Villalón Puras on Wina F (58,49 sec.) and Jos Verlooy on Domino (59,43 sec.)
